Dr Kathrina Crystallis

Ecological Physician

Medical Practitioner

I am a General Practitioner with over 15 years’ experience across the NHS and private healthcare sectors. My clinical background spans urgent care, general practice, digital health, clinical governance, service development and nationwide models of care delivery.

My professional interests sit at the intersection of conventional medicine, preventative health, nutrition, lifestyle medicine and ecological approaches to wellbeing. I am particularly interested in how the wider environment shapes human health, from climate, soil health and food systems, to the homes, workplaces and communities we live in. I see health as part of a connected system, where lifestyle, environment and society all influence long-term wellbeing and disease risk.

I have a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science, postgraduate training in obesity management and nutrition, and I am a member of the British Society for Ecological Medicine. I am passionate about addressing the root causes of chronic disease, reducing healthcare burden, and helping people make informed, sustainable choices that support both personal and planetary health.

Alongside my NHS work, I serve as Clinical Director to a private healthcare company, where I oversee clinical governance and care delivery models. I also work with a high-quality supplement company, supporting evidence-informed conversations around nutrition, micronutrients and preventative health. As a vegan, nutrition is also a deeply personal area of interest for me, and I am committed to exploring how food choices can support individual health, environmental sustainability and wider wellbeing.

I enjoy contributing to public speaking engagements on topics including preventative medicine, chronic disease, nutrition and the future of more holistic, sustainable models of care.

My approach is whole-person, evidence-informed and systems-based. I believe that good healthcare should not only treat illness, but also consider the broader conditions that allow people, communities and the environment to thrive.
